Keeping Current With Xero

As proactive and forward-thinking accountants it’s so important for us to keep up with the evolution of cloud based bookkeeping technology, so that we can effectively advise our clients all year round.  So even though we are currently buried under piles and piles of self-assessment tax returns, we somehow managed to find the time to virtually attend the live Xero quarterly product update that was held this month.

We are a Xero silver partner firm, and all our staff are fully Xero certified.  In order for us to maintain our certification we are required to attend the quarterly Xero product updates to keep on top of the regular improvements being made to the system; and to have some input into the changes that we want to see in the future for ourselves, and for our clients.

This quarter’s main focus was on the system’s reporting capabilities, and how they have made improvements to the date range filters to allow a better comparative view.  These changes mean that the reports we can get out of the system will now provide our clients with a much better understanding and insight into the health of their business.  This in turn allows for more effective and efficient decision making, leading to business growth.

The Xero team has also developed a few new summary reports that are ideal for clients who want a snapshot view of their business health based on a few headline metrics.  Again, another brilliant update that will allow business owners to make more informed business decisions more efficiently.

Finally, improvements have been made to the mobile app’s reporting capabilities, which means that business owners will have all the information they need to hand at any given moment….because you never know when business inspiration might strike and you need to check the financial viability of an idea!

We keep on top of these improvements so that our clients don’t have to.  We give our clients the information that is relevant to them as soon as they need it, which helps them keep their businesses running effectively.  We’re looking forward to seeing what Xero has in store next quarter, but until next time readers….stay connected 😉
